The Cosman TIC Kit is indicated for use for RF lesion making for the treatment of pain. Applications of the TIC Kit may include percutaneous RF lesion making in the trigeminal ganglion in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.

The TIC Kit was designed by Bernard J. Cosman MS. in collaboration with Dr. William H. Sweet, MD, who pioneered this technique. The TIC Kit includes four insulated Cannulae with 2, 5, 7, and 10 mm electrode tip exposures. A Cannula is chosen according to the size lesion to be made. The Solid Stylet is placed in the Cannula during percutaneous insertion through the foramen ovale so the tip is properly located in the gasserion ganglion under x-ray control. The Stylet is removed, and the TIC-TC Electrode is inserted into the Cannula for stimulation and lesion making. The TIC-TC Electrode has a thermocouple (TC) in its tip, and is connected to the Cosman RF generators by the CB112-TC Cable.
