The LCE was designed by Dr. Allan B. Levin, MD and Dr. Eric R. Cosman, PhD, and has been used successfully by physicians for over 30 years in the treatment of severe intractable pain due to cancer and other pain syndromes.
The LCE-TC Electrode contains a built-in thermocouple (TC) temperature sensor for fastresponding monitoring of the radiofrequency heat lesioning process. Its sharpened exposed tip has 0.33 mm diameter and 1.8 mm tip length.
Cosman also provides three LCE-LP Spinal Needle and stylet sets, each having a 20-gauge, 3½ inch long shaft and 30 degree bevel point.
