Michael Alan Arnold, PhD
Michael Arnold received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and a doctoral degree in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His doctoral research was in the field of neuroendocrinology, and focused on the central control of growth hormone secretion. Dr. Arnold’s postdoctoral training included two years at Harvard Medical School as a Research Fellow in Neurology. His research was conducted in the laboratory of Joseph B. Martin, MD, PhD, the Head of Neurology at Harvard and at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Arnold’s postdoctoral research focused on β-endorphin, a naturally occurring opioid-like brain peptide that modulates pain perception.
From 1981 to early 2000, Dr. Arnold held several senior management positions at Radionics, Inc. He led development teams that led to the successful launch several product lines including epilepsy recording electrodes and hydrocephalus products. Other key company positions held by Dr. Arnold included Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, Director of Sales and Marketing, and President of Radionics Medical Products, a division of Radionics, Inc.
